• Offloads the physical responsibility of running servers

• Example: If you did run your own & equipment fails(like a hard drive), you have to replace it and restore the data

• Self-service gives you total control of your computing resources

• You buy/install your own Operating System & applications

• Underlying computing and storage resources automatically scale to match application demand

• Platform-as-a-Service

• A cloud-based environment capable of delivering web applications without the cost & complexity of owning your own hosting environment.

• No hardware or software costs for maintenance or licensing

• Don’t have to buy your own Operating System(OS)

• Able to select specific OS, frameworks & application level customization, then it is configured for you

• Underlying computing and storage resources automatically scale to match application demand

  which are connected to users via a web browser
