Autonomic Nervous System
part of peripheral nervous system that is regulated by hypothalamus and involve in involuntary bodily functions such as heart rate.
Appraisal Theory of Emotion
states that appraisal or interpretation of situation causes an emotional response based on that inerpretation.
Primary Appraisal
seeks to establish the significance or meaning of an event.
Secondary Appraisal
assesses the ability of an individual to cope with the consequence of the event.
James-Lange Theory of Emotion
states that emotions arise as a result after the physiological arousal.
Canon-Bard Theory
states that physiological arousal and emotional experience occur simultaneously but independently.
Schacter-Singer Theory
views emotions as the result of interaction between physiological arousal and cognition.
Facial Feedback Hypothesis
Facial expressions aren’t simply caused by emotions, but they can influence our emotions as well.
