Artificial Insemination

procedure where semen is taken from the male and inserted into the female reproductive tract

Superovulation

when a female releases more than one egg from the ovary, that can be removed and frozen for embryotic transfer

Embryo harvest

where an egg is frozen and is possibly inserted into another female when it cannot produce eggs

Oestrus Synchronistation

where a farmer helps influence cow’s to go onto heat at the same time, so the vet can come for checkups for each cow at the same time

Gestation

the period of the fetus being inside of the womb

Cloning

identical copy of genetics, farmers use this, when the perfect type of breed is found

Genetic Engineering

deliberate modification of characteristics, by manipulating genetic material
