“Feel good chemicals”
When you eat certain foods (high sugar, salt) your brain releases neurotransmitters such as:
Dopamine
Serotonin
Endorphins
The cycle
Since these foods make you feel good, your brain says eat more creating a loop like addiction
Eat food > feel good > crave more > keep eating
Food cravings
Over time, your brain starts to crave specific foods
Even if your body doesn’t need energy, your brain pushes you to eat more because it remembers the pleasure
Neurotransmitters
A chemical substance released at the end of a nerve fibre
