What caused the Seven Year’s War?
British colonists were upset by the French encroachment on their land, and vice versa.

It called for a centralized government and was created by Benjamin Franklin.
Who won the Seven Year’s War?
The British.
Why was the Albany Plan of Union rejected by colonists?
They didn’t want to be taxed by a central government and wanted the power to tax themselves.
What treaty ended the Seven Year’s War and what did it do?
Peace of Paris of 1763 got rid of most French power in America, so British dominated the land.
What was Pontiac’s Rebellion?
A tribal leader named Pontiac retaliated against the westward encroachment of the British colonists on their land.
What was the Proclamation of 1763? What was the impact?
It restricted westward movement past the Appalachian mountains. However, there was no impact because the colonists felt that they had the right to move west on the land they just won.
What is Salutary Neglect?
Colonies could have their own affairs without the British government’s interference due to the distance between them.
What was the Quartering Act of 1765?
It placed British troops in America to enforce the taxing rules. Colonists had to provide food and shelter for them.

Cause by the Quartering Act of 1765, a group of colonists harassed soldiers by throwing snowballs and stones at them. Soldiers fought back and shot people, including a black man.
What was the Boston Tea Party?
The East India Company tried to sell colonists tea for a cheaper price in order to make them pay taxes. As a result, colonists disguised as Native and pored tea into the Boston Harbor.
What did the Intolerable Acts do?
They closed the Boston harbor port until all the tea was paid for and placed a new quartering act.
What was the goal of the First Continental Congress?
Colonists wanted to speak against the taxes they were getting.

The goal was to have a very weak central government. They did this by having a unicameral legislature, no federal military, and the government had very little power to tax the colonies.

It provided a plan on how territories could become states and it abolished slavery in the North.
What was Shay’s Rebellion? What was the significance of it?
Farmers were in debt from the war and couldn’t pay because of high inflation and taxes. It was significant because it displayed the weakness of the Articles of Confederation.

They were located in urban areas advocating for a strong central government.

It created a bicameral legislature to favor both the Virginia plan and the New Jersey plan. The House is based on population and the Senate has equal representation.
