Localization of function
The idea that certain parts of the brain correspond to a certain function and reflects the idea that behaviour, emotion, and/or thoughts originate in specific regions of the brain.
Strict locolization
The idea that there is a clear connection between pshychological functions/behaviours and a specific region of the brain.
Weak localization
The idea that there is a clear connection between pshychological functions/behaviours and multiple regions of the brain (not restricted to any of them).
Episodic memory
Memory of past events.
Semantic memory
Memory of facts, concepts, word lists, etc…
Procedural memory
Memory of how to do tasks (walking, riding a bike, signing your name).
Retrograde amnesia
The inability to recall events, information, or experiences that occured before the amnesia.
Anterograde amnesia
Memory loss that occurs when new memories cannot be formed.
Hippocampus
A part of the brain located in the temporal lobe that plays a major role in memory.
