Law of Conservation of Mass
States that matter is neither created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction, but can change from one form to another.
Law of Definite Proportions
All pure samples of a particular chemical compound contain the same elements combined in the same proportion by mass.
Law of Multiple Proportions
When two elements combine to form more than one compound, the different masses of one element that combine with a fixed mass of the other are in a simple multiple ratio.
Law of Reciprocal Proportions
The masses of several elements that combine separately with a fixed mass of another element are the same or simple multiples of the masses in which those elements combine with one another.
Definite Proportions Calculation
Calculating the mass of elements in a compound to demonstrate that the mass ratios align with the law of definite proportions.
Multiple Proportions Example
For element X forming two oxides, if 100g of oxide I contains 7.747g and oxide II contains 6.962g of X, the mass ratios show adherence to the law of multiple proportions.
