Folder
A virtual container in a computer's operating system used to organize files, application and other subfolders.
Antivirus software
Software used to detect, prevent and remove malware such as viruses and spyware from a computer.
Trojan Horse
A type of malicious software or malware that disguises itself to appear to be useful software program but once it reaches a computer it performs harmful actions.
ICT
Information and Communication Technology refers to the wide range of tools and technologies that enable us to gather, store, process, and share information electronically.
Data Encryption
A crucial cybersecurity process that converts readable information (plaintext) into an unreadable and a secret unique digital text.
Cookies
Web files that contain information about your visit to a web page or record your information.
Operating System Functions
Key responsibilities including Device Management, Process Management, Memory Management, File Management, Security Management, and User Interface.
Desktop
A graphical screen that opens when a user logs on a Graphical User Interface (GUI) operating system like Window, containing icons and pictures.
Rows
Horizontal components in a worksheet (left to right) represented by numbers (1,2,3).
Columns
Vertical components in a worksheet (top to bottom) represented by letters.
Spreadsheet software
An application used to store, organize, process and analyze data in a tabular form using rows and columns (e.g., Libre Office Calc, Microsoft Excel).
Relative Reference
A cell reference that changes when the formula is copied to another cell, such as A1.
Absolute Reference
A cell reference that remains constant even if copied, using a symbol before the column and row, such as \\$\$A\\$\$1.
Mixed Reference
A cell reference where either the row or column is fixed, such as \\$\$A1 (column fixed) or A\\$\$1 (row fixed).
Operator Precedence in Calc
Rules where multiplication (∗) and division (/) take precedence over addition (+) and subtraction (−).
Orientation
The print layout direction of a page, categorised as Portrait (vertical layout) or Landscape (horizontal layout).
Fractional format
A formatting option used to display numerical values as fractions instead of decimals, such as displaying 0.5 as 1/2.
Chart
A visual representation of numerical data using shapes like bars, slices, or lines to show patterns, trends, and comparisons.
Drawing Object Properties
Formatting characteristics in Libre Office Writer including Size, Position, Line property, Area/fill, and Transparency.
Grouping
A feature used to handle multiple objects as a single unit so they can be moved, resized, or formatted together.
To Character anchoring
Anchoring where an image is linked to a character but can float near it, allowing for more flexible positioning.
As character anchoring
Anchoring where an image behaves like a letter in a sentence and moves with the text line.
Cropping
A process used to trim a selected portion of an image when that portion is not required.
Fill format Mode
A tool used to apply a selected style to different areas like paragraphs or words quickly without returning to the styles window.
Overwrite option
An option used when loading styles from a template; if checked, it replaces existing styles in the document with new ones of the same name.
