Spreadsheet
A table consisting of cells (rows and columns) that holds accounting or fincial data and simulates the traditional physical spreadsheet; it captures, displays and manipulates data row, column, cell, cell address, lable, value, formula, function, worksheet, template, range, tittle and record.
Common Spreadsheet Packages
Software packages used for spreadsheets, including Microsoft EXCEL, lotus, and Google sheets.
Spreadsheet Package Uses
Used for calculations, data, creating graphs and charts, time tables, and managing, analizing, and presenting efficiently.
Cell
A single box where you can enter data (text, numbers, formulas).
Row
A horizontal line of cells, usually numbered (1,2,3…).
Column
A vertical line of cells, usually labeled with letters (A,B,C…).
Cell Address
The location of a cell, identified by its column letter and row number (e.g., A1, B2).
Worksheet
A single page or sheet in a spreadsheet file where data is entered.
Workbook
The entire spreadsheet file, which can contain multiple worksheets.
Formula Bar
A bar near the top where you can enter or see the selected cell.
Name Box
Shows the address of the currently selected cell.
Gridlines
The faint lines that separate the cells on the worksheet.
Labels
Words (used to describe data) e.g. 'Name', 'Date'.
Values
Numbers (used for calculations) E.g '100'.
Common Spreadsheet Features
Features including justifying text and numbers, changing column width and row height, using merge and centre, aligning text and values, formatting date, currency, time, cut, copy and paste, increasing and decreasing row and column height and widths, and renaming pages in a workbook.
Common Style (Font)
The mostly common word for style noted in Information Technology is New Roman.
Common Size (Font)
The common size used for font as noted is 12.
