In quali casi avviene l’inversione verbo soggetto?
4 casi:
-quando in una frase è usato un avverbio di luogo, che è seguito da un verbo di movimento (es. stand, go, walk..), in cui il soggetto non è un pronome ma un sostantivo
es.Off went the rocket (invece di the rocket went off)
es. On the wall was an oldi oil painting
MA con un pronome non si fa l’inversione
es. In came she In she came.
-dopo il discorso diretto, quando il soggetto non è un pronome ma un sostantivo
es. Is he a friend of yours? asked the man
-con strutture specifiche come: Nelle frasi condizionali introdotte da should,had,were
es. Should you complete the essay before the deadline
es. Were you in line with her positions, she would protect you (=If tou were in line with her…)
-con costruzioni specifiche come: con avverbi/espressioni di significato negativo posti all’inizio della frase principale (main clause), in mancanza di altro ausiliare è richiesto l’uso di “do/did”, come se fosse una frase interrogativa
