What is the cell membrane?
The outer boundary of the animal cell and located just inside the cell wall in plant cells. It controls what substances enter and leave the cell.
What is the cytoplasm?
The jelly-like substance that fills the cell and surrounds the organelles. Most chemical reactions take place here.
What is the nucleus?
The control center of the cell that contains the cell's genetic material (DNA) and controls cell growth, metabolism, and reproduction.
What are mitochondria?
The 'powerhouses' of the cell, where cellular respiration occurs to produce energy (ATP).
