GPE
Abbreviation for Gravitational Potential Energy, a type of energy that depends on an object's mass and height.
EPE
Abbreviation for Elastic Potential Energy, a form of stored energy present in stretched or compressed materials.
Kinetic Energy
The energy possessed by an object due to its motion, affected by both its mass and speed.
Energy Transfer
The movement of energy from one object, place, or system to another without changing its form.
Energy Transformation
The process of changing energy from one type or form into a different type or form.
Input Energy
The total amount of energy supplied to a device or system to make it operate.
Useful Energy
The portion of input energy that is converted into the intended or desired form of output energy.
Wasted Energy
The portion of input energy that is converted into unintended or unwanted forms of energy.
Sankey Diagram
A scaled visual representation that illustrates energy transformations, showing the relative amounts of input, useful, and wasted energies.
Chemical Energy
A type of stored energy present in the bonds of chemical compounds.
Nuclear Energy
A type of energy stored inside the nucleus of an atom.
Electrical Energy
A type of energy resulting from the flow or movement of electric charges.
