Atom
The smallest particle of an element.
Molecule
The smallest particle of an element or compound.
Noble gas atoms
The only atoms that exist in a free state.
Free state (Molecule)
The state in which a molecule exists.
Reactivity (Atom)
Generally highly reactive, except for some noble gas atoms.
Reactivity (Molecule)
Characterized as being less reactive than atoms.
Chemical bond
The mechanism that holds atoms together in a molecule; individual atoms do not possess these.
onemol
A unit used by scientists that contains a specific amount of entities or unit particles.
Mole Concept
Section 7.4 focusing on counting particles and units in scientific calculations.
