Why did you join JROTC?
To develop leadership skills, be apart of a family-like community, and serve my local community.
Why did you join the drill team?
To challenge myself, take on responsibilities, become more involved in my JROTC unit, become a part of a sisterhood, and to do something that I enjoy.
How did you prepare for inspection today?
I set out my uniform and placed my ranks, ribbons, and name tags on my uniform two days before this competition. I sent my uniform to the dry cleaners one week in advance. I polished my shoes and used edge dressing to make sure they look acceptable this morning at 0500. And I braided my hair two days before this competition to make sure my hair is neat and properly styled for this inspection.
What is something you learned while being in JROTC?
I learned responsibility as I am frequently responsible for my uniform, teamwork skills as I am apart of various teams in my JROTC unit, such as drill team and raider team, where teamwork is essential for success, and I learned how to be confident as I compete in inspection frequently which requires confidence.
What is a global current event? #1
In February of this year, a joint U.S.-Israeli strike killed Iran’s supreme leader, and in response, Iran has launched massive missile and drone strikes against Israel and U.S. allies in the Gulf.
What is a U.S. current event?
This week the United States 2026 Midterm Primaries began, where voters in key states such as Texas, North Carolina, and Arkansas are choosing which party controls both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
What is a global current event? #2
As a direct result of the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran, an energy crisis has begun, with major shortages of oil and gas due to the conflict in the Middle East, which is the world’s primary source of oil and gas. This crisis has sent shock waves through global markets.
If you were in charge of your JROTC unit in the future, what would you do differently?
I would:
Train and empower my fellow cadets to lead and create more leadership opportunities for underclassmen.
I would also boost funding by organizing active fundraising events to relieve budget limitations and support extracurricular activities.
What are you going to do after high school?
I will:
Enroll in a 4-year college
And major in biology
After I graduate, I will then complete medical school and become a Doctor of Medicine.
I plan to complete a residency program specializing in pediatrics
And later pass the pediatrics board exam and become a licensed pediatrician.
Then I will complete a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship
And pass the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine board exam to be a certified neonatologist
Why is your JROTC unit speacial?
My unit offers numerous leadership roles, including core commander and Raider team commander.
We engage in community service, such as building beds for those in need through Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Our Raider team has won first place at every meet this season, while our Drill team secured first overall at every competition we competed in, including the 2026 Air Force JROTC National Championship.
