First Generation
People born in another country (often assuming their parents were born in another country as well)

People who were born in the country of origin, but cam to the country of destination at an early age eg before 5 or 11
Positive selection
Those who have high levels of human capital are more likely to migrate (e.g. they have higher levels of education) compared to their non-migrant counterparts
Hyper - selectivity
Shows the process of double positive selection - Not only are these people often more education than non-migrant from their origin country, but also from their host country
