What is the role of Doctors?
They provide ongoing care for people in the community
They care for those who are unwell, this includes carrying out surgical procedures.

Largest group of professionals working in health services
Provides hands on, holistic patient care by assessing conditions, administering treatments, monitoring progress and act as a link between patients, families and the broader healthcare.
e.g. adult nurses, mental health nurses, paediatric nurses etc.
What is the role of Midwives?
They pay a central role in supporting women through all stages of pregnancy
Providing both antenatal (care before birth) and postnatal care (care after birth)
May be based in hospital maternity units but increasing number of midwives work in community, Gp practises, women homes and children centres.
What is the role of Healthcare assistants?
Also known as nursing assistants or auxiliary nurses
Work under guidance and with support of qualified healthcare professionals such as nurses. ( less qualified work then a nurse)

What is the role of Occupational therapists?
Work with people of all ages who are having difficulty carrying out practical routines of daily life such as washing and bathing.
Works in people homes, Gp practises, residential and nursing homes, prisons etc.
Will agree on specific activities with an individual that will help them to overcome their barriers to living an independent life.
What is the role of Youth doctors?
Work with young people between the ages of 11 and 25
Aims to support young people to reach full potential and become sensible and responsible members of society
mainly work in youth centres, schools, colleges etc.
What is the role of Care managers ?
Play a key leadership role within residential care settings
They manage the provision of residential care for adults and young adults with learning disabilities, older people in residential care and nursing homes, those in supported housing and people receiving hospice care.
Will manage and supervise the duties of the care assistants working in their setting.
What is the role of Care assistants?
provides help and support for those who have difficulties with daily activities
includes supporting older people and their families, children and young people with learning disabilities or mental health problems.
Work in a range of setting such as client homes, daycare settings, residential and nursing homes etc.
What is the role of Support workers?
Provide practical and emotional support to individuals with disabilities and mental health needs
Helps with the development of skills such as cooking, budgeting and advocate for service user rights
May work under the supervision of health and care professionals
