What is interphase

Interphase is the longest part of the cell cycle (90%) and includes 3 parts within it G1 G2 and synthesis

what is G1 (growth phase 1) and what happens

G1 is the first part of interphase and where organelles duplicate,

the proteins for DNA replication are made and

ensures the cell is healthy before DNA replication starts

what is synthesis and what happens

Synthesis is the second part of interphase where the DNA is replicated and the chromosomes form two sister chromatids and where centrosomes duplicate (they are important for mitosis)

What is G2 and what happens

G2 is the third and last part of interphase where the cell grows more and creates extra proteins and enzymes in preparation for the next step mitosis and ensures DNA was copied correctly
