Categorical data?
QUALitative data that can be divided into groups or categories, which are called nominal and ordinal
what is the definition for nominal data?
named categories with no higher significance (non-meaningful order), example; types of colours such as blue, red, white etc.
what is the definition for ordinal data?
categories that can be ranked or ordered (meaningful order), example; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
What is numerical data?
QUANtitative data, numbers that tell you “how much” or “how many.” example; number of children or the score of a test.
what is the definition of discrete data?
Only whole numbers are possible, example; how many cookies are made a day, or number of students.
What is continuous data?
The answer can have a decimal place, example; height, weight etc.
