4 cycle engine

1. Intake: air + fuel is mixed, intake valve opens, piston moves down and draws in air+gas into cylinders

2. Compressions: Valves closed, piston moves up, air+gas compressed to make it more explosive

3. Power: spark sent to spark plug, and it ignites air+fuel. Explosion drives piston down

4. Exhaust: exhaust valve opens, piston moves up, exhaust pushes out of cydliner. Process restarts for next cycle.
