2) Atavism/Lombroso theory - theory that some people are born criminal and primitive like Hyde

Sigmund Freud- ideas about mind and how Hyde is the ID while Jekyll is the ego

3) Duality of life- pious facade. repression as root cause of evil. Utterson and Enfield are ideal Victorian gentlemen contrasting to Jekyll, due to repression.
