Warrior Vase (krater), Mycenae, ca. 1200 BCE. Approx. 1' high.
what is krater?
A krater is a wide-mouthed vessel (think volcanic crater) used in the ancient world for mixing wine and water.

Details:
Marching around a single register are Mycenaean soldiers with helmets, shields, and spears, seemingly heading off to battle. This artist of this vessel doesn't attempt to individualize them--they are literally clones of one another with hints of that Minoan large side profile eye and long, tapered legs.
simplification and repitition

The only figure who is different is the woman with her arm raised, seeming to bid the soldiers farewell as they head off to war--a scenario that's played out in history over and over.
