Work Energy Theorem
The net work done on an object is equal to the objects change in kinetic energy ( Wnet = delta K )
Conservative Forces
The force for which the work done in displacing an object between two points is independent on the path taken by the object . ( Wnet = - change in Ep )
Non-conservative Forces
Forces for which the work done in displacing an object between two points is dependent on the path taken by the object .
Wnet = change in EK + change in EP
Conservation of mechanical energy
In an isolated system , the total mechanical energy is conserved . ( Epi + Eki ) = Epf + Ekf
Power
The rate at which work is done ( P = W / ^t )
