Autonomic Nervous System
Part of the nervous system that controls involuntary bodily functions.
Small Somatic Sensory Fibers
Fibers responsible for transmitting pain and small touch sensations.
Group C Fibers
Small diameter, unmyelinated fibers that conduct at a speed of 1 m/s or 2 mph.
Medium Diameter Fibers
Sensory and motor fibers that are lightly myelinated and conduct at speeds up to 15 m/s or 40 mph.
Multiple Sclerosis
A disease of the nervous system characterized by the degeneration of myelin in the central nervous system.
