A thin flat cell shape (looks like a fish scale under microscope)

Polygonal

Irregularly angular cell with multiple straight sides (most commonly 4-6) that fit tightly together like tiles

Cuboidal

Cube shaped cells with equal width, depth, and height

Columnar

Tall column like (narrow and rectangular) they are taller than they are wide

Spheroid

3-D sphere like shape

Discoid

Flattened, circular disc that typically features a thin center and a thicker rounded rim

Stellate

Star shaped cells defined by a central cell body with multiple branching arms radiating outward in several directions

Fusiform/spindle shaped

Wide in the middle and tapers to a point at both ends (thick central region and narrow pointed ends)

Fibrous

Elongated: spindle-shaped body that often tapers into long, slender extensions
