Disaster management
refers to the efficient and effective utilization of resources and the application of measure that will mitigate the impact of unfortunate events and facilitate return to normalcy and redevelopment. It occurs before, during and after a disaster.
Hazards
A situation that poses a level of threat to life, health, property or environment.
Risks
Likelihood of harm, loss, disaster
Vulnerability.
The level of susceptibility or resiliency of the people and communities against the impact of the prevailing hazards.
Disasters
A serious disruption of the functioning of a community or a society involving widespread human, material, economic or environmental losses and impacts, which exceeds the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own resources.
Vulnerability
The quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked.
Exposure
Elements affected by hazard.

The primary goal of preparedness is to avert the loss of lives and assets due to threats and emergencies
