pH scale
A measure of the degree or acidity or alkalinity of a substance.
pH values range
The values range from 0 to 14.
Neutral solution
A solution with a pH of 7, such as pure water.
Acidic solution
A solution with a pH value between 0 and 7. The lower the value, the stronger the acid.
Alkaline solution
A solution with a pH value between 7 and 14. The higher the value, the stronger the alkaline.
Normal human blood
A substance with a pH of 7.3, meaning it is slightly alkaline.
Vinegar
An acidic substance with a pH of 2.25.
Apple
An acidic substance with a pH of 3.
Sea water
An alkaline substance with a pH of 8.2.
Soil pH values
Values that vary from 4 to 9 depending on the sample.
