Omission

Mens rea

Concurrent

at the same time (e.g., concurrent sentences)

Corpus Delicti

substance of the crime: proof of injury/harm/loss caused by a criminal (human agency)

Liability

legally accountable for an act or omission

Constructive Intent

liability for unintended consequences (also called transferred intent)

Criminal negligence

reckless indifference omission to do what a reasonable person would do (or not do) under similar circumstances); conduct so aggravated or reckless that is shows an indifference to the consequences and a disregard for human life.

Malice

wrongful act done intentionally; with intent to injure; willful disregard to the safety of others.

Specific Intent:

a particular mental purpose in mind

Crime

public offense against the state for which a punishment is provided; requires a unity of act and intent; social conduct considered harmful and made punishable.
