Anterior cerebral artery
Branch of the internal carotid artery that supplies the frontal lobe and olfactory lobe.
Basilar artery
Formed by the union of the vertebral arteries; supplies the cerebellum and posterior cerebrum.
Brachiocephalic trunk
originates from first branch of the aortic arch; delivers blood to the right side of the head, neck, and upper arm.
Left common carotid artery
Middle branch of the aortic arch supplying the left side of the head and neck.
Common hepatic artery
Branch of the celiac trunk that supplies the liver and gallbladder.
External iliac vein
Deep vein that receives blood from the femoral vein and great saphenous vein; continues as the common iliac vein.
Femoral vein
Deep vein draining the muscles of the thigh and emptying into the external iliac vein.
Inferior phrenic artery
originating from the abdominal artery supplying the inferior surface of the diaphragm
Inferior mesenteric artery
originates from abdominal aorta and supplies the large intestine and rectum.
Inferior vena cava
Great vein that drains the abdomen, pelvis, and lower extremities into the right atrium.
Internal iliac artery
Originating from the common iliac artery supplying the pelvis and external genitalia.
Median cubital vein
drains the median antebrachial vein and and joins the basilic vein (common venipuncture site).
Oblique vein of the left atrium
identify
Occipital sinus
Dural venous sinus that drains the area of the foramen magnum and empties into the confluence of sinuses (centra hub where veins meet)
Popliteal artery
Continuation of the femoral artery behind the knee; supplies muscles of the knee region.
Radial artery
originates where the brachial artery splits (bifurcation) and supplies to hand, wrist, forearm
Small saphenous vein
Superficial vein draining the foot and posterior leg; empties into the popliteal vein behind the knee.
Subclavian artery
Artery that supplies the neck as well as muscles of the upper arm and shoulder.
Superior mesenteric artery
originates from abdominal aorta and supplies small intestine and colon.
Transverse facial artery
across face; identify
Vertebral artery
originates from subclavian artery and supplies to vertebral bodies; (spine) muscles of neck
Great saphenous vein
Longest superficial vein; drains the foot and lower extremities and empties into the femoral vein in the groin.
Hemiazygos vein
Vein that drains the lower four intercostal veins and empties into the azygos vein.
