ABCDE of Nevi
A guideline for melanoma detection: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variety, Diameter > 6mm, Evolution over time.
Pruritis
Itching or irritation of the skin.
Lupus
A chronic autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation in various parts of the body, including the skin.
Clubbing
A deformity of the fingers and nails associated with various diseases, characterized by an increase in the distal phalanx.
Thyroid Gland
An endocrine gland in the neck that synthesizes and secretes hormones T3 and T4, regulating metabolism.
Exophthalmos
A condition in which the eyeballs protrude, often associated with hyperthyroidism.
Adenoids
Lymphatic tissue located at the back of the nasal cavity, playing a role in immune response.
Facial nerve (CN VII)
A cranial nerve responsible for facial expressions and sensations.
Epithelial Tissue
A tissue type that makes up surfaces such as the skin and the lining of the mouth.
Hypothyroidism
A condition in which the thyroid gland is underactive, resulting in a deficiency of thyroid hormones.
Anosmia
Loss of the sense of smell.
Inguinal nodes
Lymph nodes located in the groin area that filter lymph fluid from the lower body.
Palpation
The medical examination technique involving the use of hands to feel organs and tissues.
Halitosis
Chronic bad breath.
Nasal Saline
A solution used to moisturize nasal passages, often used for allergy relief.
Throat culture
A test used to identify bacteria or viruses in the throat.
