Query
A request created in Access to retrieve, analyze, or modify data that meets specified criteria.
Primary Key Field
The field (or combination of fields) that uniquely identifies each record in a table and prevents duplicates.
Default Sort for Numbers
When no other order is specified, numeric fields are automatically arranged in ascending order (smallest-to-largest).
MS Access Table Structure
The design of a table, including its fields, data types, properties, and primary key.
MS Access ID Field
The AutoNumber field Access adds by default to serve as the table’s primary key.
MS Validation Rule/Message
A field or table property that restricts data entry to specified conditions and displays a custom error message if the rule is violated.
Referential Integrity Rule
A rule that enforces consistency between related tables by ensuring each foreign-key value has a matching primary-key value.
Display Query Results
Run the query (click Run or switch to Datasheet View) to open a datasheet showing the records that meet the criteria.
Query Design Grid
The lower pane in Query Design View where you add fields, set criteria, specify sort orders, and design queries visually.
Column Sizing
Adjusting field column widths in datasheets or reports by dragging the right edge or double-clicking for best fit.
Control Objects on a Form
Visual elements—such as text boxes, labels, buttons, and combo boxes—placed on a form to display or collect data.
File tab
The Office ‘Backstage’ view that provides commands such as Save, Open, Print, Share, and Options.
PowerPoint Placeholder
A predefined box on a slide used to hold text, pictures, charts, or other content.

‘B’ / ‘W’ Keys (PowerPoint)
During a slide show, B turns the screen black and W turns it white; pressing the key again returns to the slide.

Visual effects applied between slides that play as one slide changes to the next.
PowerPoint Shortcut Keys
Keyboard combinations that speed up tasks, e.g., F5 starts a slide show; Ctrl+M inserts a new slide.
PowerPoint SmartArt Graphics
Built-in diagrams that visually organize information with shapes, text, and automatic formatting.
PowerPoint Animations
Motion effects applied to slide objects (entrance, emphasis, exit, motion path) to control how they appear or move.
PowerPoint Slide Master View
A view that lets you modify master slides and layouts to set uniform formatting and design for the entire presentation.
