Strengths: Its the easy and simple reading... Weaknesses: Other passages seem to contradict it

The view that they're not referring to believers who are actually transformed

Strengths: It deals better with the rest of the canon, Weaknesses.. doesn’t mesh with hebrews 6

The view that the passages are talking about believers and apostasy, but true believers heed the warning and this is how God keeps his people

It's part of following Christ, Sin causes doubt, therefore, we must fight sin. the second means of assurance.

No one is without sin
Why is it important that we recognize that the gospel is not merely helpful, but true?
Eventually, the usefulness of the Gospel will wear off, but it will still be true

Jesus died to pay for their sin, so salvation is assured. christ is our advocate

It had to have relevance for them, therefore, it must have relevance for us
