Intercondylar eminence

Irregular projection located between the two condyles of the tibia. It is an attachment site for ligaments that help stabilize the knee and prevents it from shifting or twisting too much.

Medial condyle of the tibia

Articulates with medial condyle of femur. It serves an insertion site of the hamstring muscle.

Lateral condyle of the tibia

Articulates with lateral condyle of femur. It is the site of origin of the tibialis anterior and site of insertion for the hamstring.

Tibial tuberosity

Point where the patellar ligament attaches.

medial malleolus

The bony bump on the inner side of the ankle.

lateral malleolus

Process forming the outer ankle

Tibia

the medial and larger bone of the lower leg.

Fibula

The lateral and smaller bone of the lower leg.
