What is the Kinetic model?
All particles are moving, a higher heat means more kinetic energy between the particles
What is Absolute zero?
-273C, measured in Kelvin - a state were particles have no kinetic movement
What is Specific Latent Heat?
Knowledge that different materials require different quantities of heat to change the state of unit mass
What is Specific Heat Capacity?
The number of Joules required to raise the temperature of 1KG of material by 1C
What is the Relationship between Temperature and Pressure?
As the temperature rises in a fixed volume, so does as pressure as the thermal energy is converted to kinetic energy
What is the Relationship between Pressure and Volume?
As volume decreases pressure increases as the particles don’t have as far a distance to travel to collide with the container’s walls
What is the relationship between Volume and Temperature
As temperature increases so does volume as due to the increased pressure from the conversion of energy - the container walls are pushed outwards
What is Fusion?
When a mess changes from a solid to a liquid
What is Vapourisation?
When a mass changes from liquid to gas
How do you Calculate Pressure?
P = F/A
