Domestic Violence Act 2018
Legislation that provides legal protections and orders to prevent violence or threats of violence against an applicant and their dependents.
Safety Order
An order under the Domestic Violence Act 2018 that prevents the alleged offender from committing further violence or threatening violence against the applicant and their dependents. The offender is not required to leave the family home, but is prohibited from being near the home and from following or communicating (including electronically) with the applicant.
Order requiring offender to leave the family home
An order under the Domestic Violence Act 2018 that requires the alleged offender to leave the family home for a specified time outlined by the court. It prevents them from further violence or threats of violence against the applicant and their dependents, and prohibits watching or being near the applicant's home, as well as following or communicating (including electronically) with them.
