Malthusianism Overview

Malthusianism involves a dark vision of the future with increasing famines, civilization breaking down, and our world becoming dystopian. It focuses on population and carrying capacity, saying that there is too many humans for the number of resources that we have. It comes from the perspective that running out of resources is inevitable.

Techno-Optimism Overview

Techno-Optimism comes from the perspective that there may be challenges in life, but we got this because we are humans and adaptive and will always find ways to solve the problems. The ultimate resource is humans, and we are able to consciously solve all problems. If there is scarcity in the market, then it is just a temporary inconvenience, and when the price of commodity rises, people find substitutes.

Capitalism is a system rooted in market competition where private owners of capital (money, machines, factories, etc.) hire wage workers, control investments, and seek profits. People controlling investment have one goal which is to earn profit. hey thrive off of artificial scarcity and capitalism needs scarcity to profit in industries.

Culture perspective is a way of theorizing the world and knowing the world in which we live in. Culture is the general process of intellectual, spiritual development, way of life, and wors and practices of intellectual and artistic activity. A culture framework is that humans take away kind of what they have learned about nature from their culture whether it’s the bible, science, or logic of how you grew up. Some cultures treat nature like their relatives, while others believe they are completely separate from nature.
