Pituitary Gland

Located at the base of the brain; releases Oxytocin, Vasopressin, Growth Hormone, Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH), Prolactin, Luteinizing Hormone, and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH); stimulates growth and controls the functions of other glands.

Thyroid Gland

Located below the voice box; releases Thyroxin and Calcitonin; regulates body metabolism and causes storage of calcium in bones.

Parathyroid Gland

Located in the neck; releases Parathyromone; controls the calcium levels in the body and normalizes bone growth.

Thymus Gland

Located in front of the heart; releases Thymosin; enables the body to produce certain antibodies.

Adrenal Gland

Located on top of the kidneys; releases Adrenaline; prepares the body for action and controls the heart rate and breathing in times of emergency.

Pancreas

Located between the kidneys; releases Insulin and Glucagon; regulates blood sugar levels.

Testes (Males)

Located in the lower abdomen; release Androgen and Testosterone; control maturation and male characteristics.

Ovaries (Females)

Located in the lower abdomen; release Estrogen and Progesterone; influence female traits and support reproductive function.
