Consonant
A basic speech sound in which the breath is at least partly obstructed and which can be combined with a vowel to form a syllable.
Vowel
A speech sound made with your mouth fairly open, the opposite of a consonant.
Syllable
A unit of pronunciation having one vowel sound, with or without surrounding consonants, forming the whole or a part of a word.
Consonant Blends
A group of two or three consonants in words that makes a distinct consonant sound
Consonant Digraphs
Two consonants that join together to make one new sound

A trigraph is a group of three letters that represents one sound
