What was included in nationalisation of industry?
The nationalisation of industry and state monopoly of markets caused unrest as it meant that individuals lost the freedom to produce and sell goods at a time, price and place that suited them.
What did they lose?
All ownership and hence control over the means of production, distribution and exchange
What was included in militarisation of labour?
The militarisation of labourers was also disliked as people were forced to work solely to meet the needs of the war
What was included in grain requisitioning?
This was the most hated policy as it involved taking away surpluses of food + grain, this meant that there was a disincentive to grow more than was actually needed by an individual household
What would happen to the majority of food?
Taken from a household to feed the army and urban sorkers.
What was the overall result of this?
A famine in rural area (especially between 1920-21) 5 million people died as a result of the famine
