SET 2

Human Development CR.#1 (SET 2 in masters, worded differently) Using your knowledge of human development, describe two ways that PLAY affects cognitive development. Choose one grade group K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and explain.

Specifically, asked how play affects prosocial behavior in K-2 (1/12)

When students in grade K-2 participate in play they are able to deloevp prosocial behaviors. Prosocial skills include, caring, comforting, compassion, cooperation, empathy, helping, kindness, sharing and sympathy. As children engage in play they are bale to learn these skills. For example, when children play with a ball, they are learning to take turns and share one object. They are able to learn that sometimes resources are limited and need to be shared between two or more people. Play can also teach students how to cooperate with eathoether. When students are playing together, they are often playing by a set of rules, teaching them to cooperate with one another so that everything goes smoothly. For example, students riding scooters and tricycles in the play yard at school. The students know they need to go in the same direction, follow the path that is designated and alternate the person who is using the equipment. Students are learning to cooperatively play together in order to keep a smooth flow in the game. In this activity students are also learning to share as well.

Performing Arts CR. #3 (Set 11 in masters)

Select a music genre (examples are Mariachi, Reggae, an d Hip-hop) but you can choose any genre that is not mentioned. Those are just examples of genres that they give you to give you an idea.

You have to write about:

One unique feature/characteristic that this genre has

Why is this unique

1/11 Select a unique theatre genre/style (i.e. comedy, tragedy, melodrama, etc.), Asks you to name a play and (1) describe its genre or style, (2) explain a feature/characteristics from play that demonstrates its genre/style

1/11

One style of theater is comedy. One of the most famous comedic plays written was A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. While this play has its share of tragic events, it is classified as a comedy because in the end, the main characters end up happy. At the end of the play, everyone finds thier happily ever after. The two couples end up married and the fairy queen and king end up reconciling from thier differences earlier on in the play. Not only is this play comedic in the way that it ends, it is also quite a funny tale in which a love potion causes a series of events between the main characters, which cause the audience to laugh.

Or

Romeo and Juilet is one of the classic examples of a tragic play. The cornerstone of a tragedy is just that, tragic events take place. In the play Romeo and Juliet, both of the protagonists fall to an untimely fate. Juliet, not wanting to marry someone else seaks help from the local monk who give her an elixir that will put her in a death like slumber, the monk also promises to send word to Romeo. However, Romeo doesn't get the memo and decided to take his own life by drinks a posin. When Juliet wakes up and sees that Romeo has killed himself, again not wanting to be without him she uses his dagger and kills herself. There are many factors that make this a tragic tale, yet the key factor is the double suiside at the end of the play.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Create a physical activity for K-2 graders with locomotor/non-locomotor skills that could be adapted/modified for everyone to participate regardless of physical or fitness abilities?

This physical activity (animal dancing) is designed to help Kindergarten to 2nd graders develop their locomotor and nonlocomotor skills. It can be adapted and modified to accommodate all participants regardless of physical or fitness abilities. The activity begins with a warm-up. Have the students stand in a circle and do some light stretching. Then, have them march in place for a few minutes. Next, have the students practice their locomotor skills. Have them march around the room, gallop, skip, and hop. Encourage them to move in different directions and at different speeds. Once the students have had a chance to practice their locomotor skills, have them practice their nonlocomotor skills. Have them stand in a circle and do some yoga poses, such as tree pose, warrior pose, and mountain pose. Have them practice balancing on one foot and stretching their arms and legs. To make the activity accessible to all participants, provide modifications and adaptations. For example, if a student is unable to stand on one foot, have them stand on two feet and practice balancing. If a student is unable to do a yoga pose, have them do a modified version of the pose. At the end of the activity, have the students cool down by doing some light stretching and marching in place. This physical activity is designed to help Kindergarten to 2nd graders develop their locomotor and nonlocomotor skills. It can be adapted and modified to accommodate all participants regardless of physical or fitness abilities

Hot ball game (on master)

This is the link for the game they are talking about. It is VERY similar. They ask what movements the kids could use, teamwork skills, and two sports related games that are similar and why are they similar. They give you a choice between answering all of these. I knew all so I could get the most points.

https://www.thepespecialist.com/monsterball/

In the game Hot Ball students are using a biomechanical movement, when they throw. This type of movement engagens the entier body form the arm all the way through the trunk to the hips and legs. Students are also engaging in locomotor movement when they are walking/running to retrieve the smaller balls to throw at the larger ball. Students are also working collaboratively as a team to accomplish a similar end goal through communication and team work. It is imperative that all student work together to move the ball into the scoring zone inorder to gain points. Two similar sports

New cards

One factor that will affect the social or emotional development of a child in grades k-2, 3-5, 6-8. And explain how it affects them.

positive reinforcement because it builds confidence. helps in a good way. One factor which might affect the emotional health of a k-2 student is how the student feels about school. The child should feel secure in the physical setting, so he/she is not worried about something or someone hurting him/her. The child needs to have a bond with the adults who care for him/her and feel able to trust them. If the Pl does not feel safe from things or people in the school setting, he/she will be constantly worried and not develop normally emotionally. The child who does not feel safe, emotionally or physically will not demonstrate age appropriate emotional responses to situations and people around them. The child may be unusually shy and quiet and not join activities. The child might also react with anger and aggression to hide his or her emotional distress.

How can they design a dance in small groups? Teacher puts 6th students in small groups to creating a choreography to performance Pick two aesthetic principals (unity, contrast, variety) students need to incorporate in their performance. Describe the aesthetic value.

I got one very similar to this. Asked about what dance moves can improvise dance. I just answered/practiced it in the way of the instructions right above this comment. Then when i got to the test I tailored it to their wants/needs1/13

unity so they can learn rhythm like a pattern

variety for type or a routine

48
New cards

How to use unity in choreography?

Repetition of movement 7/29, 8/25, 9/7, 10/25

D. Transitions are fluid - this should be the correct answer. Unity is the feeling of wholeness in a dance achieved when all parts work well together (A quantity or range of different things) The separate movements in the choreography must fit or flow together, and must be important to and contribute to the whole.
