Balanced Equation
An equation that shows the same number of each type of atom on both sides of the reaction.
Stoichiometry
The calculation of reactants and products in chemical reactions based on balanced equations.
Limiting Reactant
The reactant that is used up first in a chemical reaction, limiting the amount of products formed.

Molarity
mols over L
Electrolyte
A substance that dissolves in water to give a solution that conducts electricity.
Net Ionic Equation
Takes out spectator ions
Strong Acid
An acid that completely dissociates in water.
Weak Acid
An acid that only partially dissociates in water.
Solubility Rules
Li, Na, NH4, C2H3O2, NO3, K
Spectator Ions
Ions that are unchanged on both sides.
Aqueous Solution
A solution in which water is the solvent.
Hydrocarbon
An organic compound consisting entirely of hydrogen and carbon.
