Molarity (M)
The concentration unit defined as moles of solute per liter of solution.
Strict Stoichiometry
Refers to the method used to calculate the quantities of reactants and products in a chemical reaction.
Limiting Reactant
The reactant that is completely consumed in a chemical reaction, determining the maximum amount of product.
Dilution
The process of decreasing the concentration of a solute in a solution, usually by adding more solvent.
Solute
The substance that is dissolved in a solution.
Solvent
The substance in which the solute is dissolved to form a solution.
Concentration Units
Different ways to express the concentration of a solution, such as molarity, parts per million, and mass percent.
Strong Electrolyte
A substance that completely dissociates into ions in solution.
Conversion Factor
A ratio used to convert between units, maintaining equivalent values.
Aliquot
A portion of a larger whole, often used in the context of sample measurements.
