Pneumatics
The use of compressed air to perform mechanical work.
Electro-Pneumatics
A system combining electrical control with pneumatic power, where electrical signals control solenoid valves to enable greater automation and flexibility.
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
A digital computer used for automation of industrial processes that receives input signals, processes logic, and sends output signals to control devices.
Solenoid Valve
An electro-mechanical valve commonly employed to control the flow of liquid or gas.
Limit Switch
A switch operated by the motion of a machine part or the presence of an object.
Sensor
A device that automatically triggers an action based on a detected change in its environment (such as motion, light, magnetic, or proximity) without requiring direct physical contact.
Control Switch
A manually or automatically operated electrical device used to control the flow of electricity in a circuit, commonly used to start, stop, or change the operation of machines or systems.
Relay
A remote-controlled switch that uses an electromagnet to open and close contacts, acting as a bridge between two circuits to allow a low-power signal to control a higher-power circuit.
Self-Holding Circuit
An electrical circuit configuration where an output maintains its energized state through its own contact even after the initial start signal is released.

DIN
Deutsches Institut fur Normung (German Institute for Standardization).
Electrical Load
Devices in an electro-pneumatic system circuit that consume electrical energy, such as solenoid valves, indicator lamps, relays, contactors, and small motors.
FRL
Filter, Regulator, and Lubricator assembly used in pneumatic systems to prepare compressed air for operation.
