In broad meaning:

• lack of estrus signs.

• Both physiological and pathological.

In narrow meaning (clinically):

• lack of ovulation- pathological.

• Pathological process in ovaries or uterus.

Physiological anestrus

Lack of ovulation of growing follicles.

During:

• Gestation

• First 2 weeks after parturition.

Behavioural anestrus:

Lack of shown estrus signs (silent heat) despite proper follicular growth.

Due to estrogen deficits

Detectional anestrus:
