Glorious Revolution
A revolution in 1688 that created a constitutional monarchy where the king and queen were able to enjoy a royal life still but the rule of the government was to protect the rights of the people.
English bill of rights
a bill the parliament passed in 1689 stating that every one had rights you couldn’t take away. This let the people elect leaders.
John Locke
he was a writer and philosopher who loved the idea of the constitutional monarchy, he thought the job of the government was to protect the rights of the people
The French and Indian war
a war that lasted from 1754-1763 where Britain and France fought over land in North America because France had claimed the land behind Britain but Britain was growing and needed to expand.
