ACID RESISTANT CAST IRON PIPE
Made of alloy of cast iron and silicon. It is installed in chemical laboratories, industries or other installations where acid waste is being discharged.
ASBESTOS PIPE
It is made of asbestos fibers and Portland cement. This pipe could be used as soil, waste or ventilation pipe and downspout.
BITUMINOUS FIBER SEWER PIPE
It is the cheapest of all types of pipe. It is light in weight, sometimes recommended for house sewer and for tank installations.
VITRIFIED CLAY PIPE
It is considered as one of the oldest materials used for sewer lines. It is made from clay cast into length of 750mm or 0.75m treated with glazed compound and heated in a large kiln under a temperature of 1370 ºC making it impervious to moisture
LEAD PIPE
It is also one of the oldest plumbing materials used by the Egyptians, Greeks and the Roman Architects for soil, waste and ventilation pipe.
GALVANIZED STEEL PIPE
It is made up of mild steel drawn through a die and welded cast into 6m long. Steel pipe is subjected to deposits of salt and lime which gradually accumulate and eventually choke the flow of water. This type of pipe is corroded by alkaline and acid water.
GALVANIZED WROUGHT IRON PIPE
It is better than steel pipe for plumbing installation. Test showed that wrought iron pipe is more resistant to acid waste that the steel pipe.
BRASS PIPE
It is the most expensive of all types of pipe. This type is made of an alloy or zinc and copper mixed a proportion of 15% and 85% respectively. This pipe is superior material for waste and water installation because of the smooth interior surface aside from its high resistant to acids.
COPPER PIPE
It is a durable material which is extremely corrosive-resistant.
K Type
It is the heaviest type and is suitable for underground installation.
L Type
It is lighter type than K and is available in both rigid and flexible type commonly used in residential water supply line for radiant heating installations.
M Type
It is the thinnest and is available only in rigid form. This is specially designed for small water supply pipe lines and also for radiant heating.
SOLVENT
It is an adhesive material usually used externally
TEFLON TAPE
It is specifically used for attachment threaded pipe on fittings
FAUCET
It is a point of installation system where flow of water or gas could be manipulated.
FITTINGS
It made in different forms that are intended for plumbing joints and connections.
