What is the response cost?
This is withholding a reinforcer as a result of an undesirable behavior
What is Antecedents?
This is the events right before a wanted or unwanted behavior
What is stimulus control?
Goes under behavior and it’s when there is an increase probability that a behavior will occurs as a result of a antecedent stimulus
What is S Delta?
When you teach a dog get glove 1, but they get glove 2 or 3z they are not rewarded.
What is generalization mean?
This occurs when behaviors are seen in contexts other than those in which they were originally trained.
What is Operant conditioning ?
Operant conditioning is the type of conditioning related to the behavioral principles of reinforcement, extinction, punishment and stimulus control.
What is respondent conditioning?
a neutral stimulus can become a conditioned stimulus if it is paired a number of times with an unconditioned stimulus.
What does Habituation mean?
a gradual decline in the magnitude of the respondent behavior after it has been elicited repeatedly. (Get use to it)
What does counter conditioning mean?
counters the effects of previous conditioning.
Oftentimes, the previous conditioning was of an aversive nature. (Undoing the bad)
What does systematic desensitization mean?
Trying to teach a dog to relax
What is flooding?
It the opposite of systematic desensitization. This is when the dog is exposed to the stimuli for a fixed period of time and escape is not an option.
What is topography?
Refers to the physical characteristics of behavior, such as biting or aggression
What is Functional analysis?
Functional analysis is a way of looking at the operant variables that are related to behavior.
What is behavioral diagnostics?
Behavioral diagnostics takes into account the operant variables related to behavior, plus genetics, medical status and physical variables.
