لَيْسَ الْخَبَرُ كَالْمُعَايَنَةِ

Hearing is not like seeing.

الْحَرْبُ خُدْعَةٌ

War is deception.

الْمُسْلِمُ مِرْآةُ الْمُسْلِمِ

A Muslim is a mirror of the Muslim.

خَيْرُ الزَّادِ التَّقْوَى

The best provision for the journey to the hereafter is righteousness.

الدَّالُّ عَلَى الْخَيْرِ كَفَاعِلِهِ

The person guiding someone to do a good deed is like the one performing a good deed.

Hadith 3: إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ

Actions depend on their intentions.

اسْتَعِينُوا عَلَى الْحَوَائِجِ بِالْكِتْمَانِ

Fulfill needs discretely.

سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ

Abuse by (or of) a Muslim is an evil.

الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ

Modesty is entirely good.

عِدَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَأَخْذٍ بِالْكَفِّ

The word of the believer is like the seizing of the hand.

الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ

True wealth is the wealth of the soul.

خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

The best among you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it to others.

لا يَحِلُّ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ

It is not permissible for a Muslim to sever relations with another Muslim brother for more than three days.

السَّعِيدُ مَنْ وُعِظَ بِغَيْرِهِ

The felicitous person learns from others mistakes.

النَّاسُ كَأَسْنَانِ الْمُشْطِ

People are like the teeth of a comb.

مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

The one who dies protecting their property is a martyr.

الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ

A person who is consulted becomes a trustee.

مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُ لا يُرْحَمُ

The one who doesn't show mercy will not be shown mercy.

الْمَجَالِسُ بِالأَمَانَةِ

All get-togethers (of people) are based on (their mutual) trust.

الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

A man will be with the one he loves.

الْبَلاءُ مُوَكَّلٌ بِالْمَنْطِقِ

Talking without thinking can result in trouble.

خَيْرُ الأُمُورِ أَوْسَطُهَا

Best work is one that is done in moderation.

لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ غَشَّنَا

He is not one of us who cheats us.

سَيِّدُ الْقَوْمِ خَادِمُهُمْ

The leader of people is their servant.

الرَّاجِعُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالرَّاجِعِ فِي قَيْئِهِ

Taking back a gift is like swallowing your vomit.

لا يَشْكُرُ اللَّهَ مَنْ لا يَشْكُرُ النَّاسَ

One who is not thankful to people is not thankful to Allah.

الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى

The upper hand is better than the lower hand.

التَّائِبُ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ كَمَنْ لا ذَنْبَ لَهُ

A person who repents for their sins becomes like one who has never sinned.

إِذَا جَاءَكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ

When a nobleman visits you give respect to them.

الْيَمِينُ الْفَاجِرَةُ تَدَعُ الدِّيَارَ بَلاقِعَ

False oaths lay waste to homelands.

اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ

Save yourself from the fire, even by a piece of a date.

الدُّنْيَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَجَنَّةُ الْكَافِرِ

This world is a prison for the righteous believer and heaven for a non-believer.

إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ

Avoid suspicion because suspicion is the worst form of falsehood.

أَفْشُوا السَّلامَ بَيْنَكُمْ

Spread greetings of peace on each other.

الطَّهُورُ شَطْرُ الإِيمَانِ

Cleanliness is a part of faith.

إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحَسَدَ فَإِنَّ الْحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الْحَسَنَاتِ

Beware of jealousy, jealousy consumes virtue.

الْجَنَّةُ تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِ الأُمَّهَاتِ

Paradise lies under the feet of the mother.

كُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

Eat with your right hand and eat from in front of you.

لا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَاطِعٌ

One who boycotts will not enter paradise.

لا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ

None amongst you can be a true believer unless he likes for his brother what he like for himself.
