Structural Formula
A chemical representation that shows how the atoms are connected in a molecule.
Space-Filling Model
A molecular representation created by inflating atomic spheres until they touch.
Lewis Structure
A representation where two dots between two atoms denote a single bond, which can be replaced by a line to show connectivity.
Ball-and-Stick Model
A molecular model that utilizes spheres and connecting sticks to show the 3D geometry of a molecule.
Mole
The amount of a substance that contains the same number of entities as in 12g of carbon 12.
Molar Mass
The mass of one mole of a substance's entities, expressed in units of grams per mole.
Mass Fraction
A converted form of percentage to fraction used in mass ratios to find the mass of a specific element in a given sample.
Empirical Formula
A chemical formula expressing the smallest whole-number integer ratio of elements present in a compound.
Structural Isomers
Compounds, such as fructose and glucose, that possess the exact same molecular formula but feature different atomic structural arrangements.
Tetraphosphorus Trisulfide
A chemical compound comprised of four phosphorus atoms and three sulfur atoms (P4S3).
