The scientific study of life.
Characteristics of Life
Seven features that define living organisms: Order and organization, Response to the environment, Reproduction, Regulation, Growth and development, Energy Processing, and Evolutionary adaptation.
Virus
A biological entity that requires a living host to reproduce and does not fulfill the criteria of life.
Scientific Method
A systematic approach to making observations, forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, collecting data, and drawing conclusions.
Hypothesis
A testable prediction about the relationship between two or more variables.
Theory
A broad framework for understanding natural phenomena, supported by evidence and capable of generating testable hypotheses.
Taxonomy
The classification of living organisms into hierarchical categories.
