Peace Education

Positive Peace
The presence of just and non-exploitative relationships and well-being, diminishing the root causes of conflict.
Negative Peace
The absence of war or physical/direct violence.
Peace Building
Development of constructive relationships across boundaries to resolve injustice nonviolently and transform conditions that generate conflict.
Structural Violence
Harm to individuals caused by social structures that perpetuate inequality and injustices.
Interpersonal Peace
Manifested through assertiveness, respect, concern for others, cooperation, open-mindedness, and humility.
Social Responsibility
Awareness and readiness to work for the common welfare of society.
